Introducing Genome Connect

Today we’re launching Genome Connect, a way for any product to personalize its experience with permissioned insights from a user’s genome.

Until now, genetic personalization has belonged almost entirely to products built around genetics. Sequencing users, handling samples, processing genomic data and turning millions of variants into something useful takes infrastructure and expertise that most companies would never build themselves.

Genome Connect changes that.

A nutrition app can learn that one user metabolizes caffeine differently from another. A training app can account for genetic differences in recovery. An AI assistant can tailor its answers to the biology of the person asking. None of them need to become a genetics company to do it.

Any product built around personalization can now offer users a new option: insights from their own genome, shared on their terms.

Insight panels built for your product

We work with each partner to find where genetic insight would make their product more useful. Then we design custom insight panels around those opportunities.

A panel might cover nutrition and metabolism, sleep and circadian rhythm, training and recovery, stress response, or whatever traits matter to the experience you’re building. Each panel turns the relevant parts of a user’s genome into structured insights, with supporting evidence, citations and clear limitations.

Your product gets the context it needs to personalize, and your team doesn’t need to become genomics experts.

One connection, two ways in

Users who already have their genome with Genome Computer can grant your app access to the insights you’ve configured.

Users who don’t can get sequenced through a co-branded flow launched from inside your product. We handle kit delivery, sample return, sequencing, bioinformatics and support.

Either way, once a genome is ready, insights reach your product through the same connection.

The user stays in control

Genome Computer is a Public Benefit Corporation, built around a commitment to protect individual genetic data. We will never sell or license an individual’s genetic data. Learn more about our privacy commitments.

A new layer of personalization

For most products, building genomic infrastructure will never make sense. Understanding something meaningful about the biology of the person using your product might.

Genome Connect separates the two. We handle sequencing, bioinformatics, annotation, permissioning and support. You use the resulting insights to make your product more personal for every user who connects, alongside the behavior, preferences and other data you already have.

Genome Connect and custom insight panels are free for approved organizations.
